MicroMReg: Pedestrian-Friendly Urban Spaces through Adaptive Micromobility Regulation

Micromobility has the power to make cities cleaner, more accessible, and easier to navigate. When integrated well, it supports the transition to sustainable, inclusive urban living—aligned with the 15-minute city model.

However, nearly a decade of experience has also revealed challenges. Increased conflicts with pedestrians and overcrowded public spaces—especially for vulnerable users—can limit accessibility, particularly for people with visual or mobility impairments.

MicroMReg addresses these issues by developing smart, adaptive regulation tools for micromobility. Our approach promotes safer, more inclusive, and pedestrian-friendly streets while preserving the benefits of micromobility: fast, flexible, convenient, and low-emission transport.

By supporting sustainable urban mobility plans and net-zero strategies, MicroMReg helps cities create a balanced mobility ecosystem—reducing car dependency, improving access to essential services, and making urban life more livable for everyone.
